In this unit I learned more about pronunciation, both spoken and written, in ways I never knew existed before; I suppose that's a testament to to how often phonetics is taught in school as described in the lesson. in learning about the ways to teach intonation by the rise/fall, fall/rise, and even flat patterns of speech, I am better able to describe its relevance and importance for learners to convey proper meaning behind the words and phrases. While the unit gave good examples (diagrams, gestures, singing, etc), I feel this type of lesson will allow a teacher to create his/her own strategy for teaching phonetics--even if it is throughout each lesson or in one specific lesson during a language course.
