I have learned the different reasons for why we read and listen. This will help me to teach students because it will help me to clarify directions for the students, and it has given me insight as to how the students will be reading and listening. I have also learned the different forms of material that will help with different aspects of the students language learning. For example I've learned how to choose texts and listening material to help include everyone's interests, and make sure that these materials are picked especially for the students levels. I have also learned that it's important to have a good mixture of non-authentic and authentic texts that will build their confidence and help the students learn new vocabulary.
