This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 6 addresses the Past Tenses. The past tenses are very similar to the present tenses in the sense of form; affirmative, negative and question. In the negative and question form the addition of did or did not are required. In the negative past continuous however, the not comes before the present participle and was/were is used instead. Good activities to activate teaching concepts would be interview questions and memory cards. Likewise similar activities could be used to practice the past perfect/continuos. In my opinion the past perfect/continuous needs the most practice in the classroom, as my students always have issues when I use it or correct them when recounting the past. This is especially true as mentioned elsewhere because certain cultures and languages do not have this form. The backwards story is definitely a good activity I will try in the classroom in order to review.
