This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The lesson taught me why we plan lessons, and what information is necessary on a lesson plan. Then I learned about the process of study activities, how to check upon the students, how to give feedback, and how plan a lesson sequence.
I am now able to fill in a blank lesson plan on my own, and use the different ESA structures. I have earlier experience with lesson/educational program planning, but this was mainly focussed to support the children and students in their development of social skills, co-operational skills, and the discovery of their creativity. After the planning and executing of the activities, there was always time scheduled for evaluation and reflection on the learning experiences and outcomes of our participants. Reflection was also an important tool to review my own decisions, as to increase my professionalism. Although it is not named in this lesson plan, I will keep on doing my reflections after a lesson, since it always gave me valuable information.
