This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 17 was somewhat a review of common sense knowledge for someone who has been in the school setting for their whole life. For me, I think the most effective way to teach is using more interactive methods such as white boards, smart boards or overhead projectors. I also really enjoy visual aids when learning a new language and worksheets. However, I do not like the usage of cassettes or CD players because the students have no motivation to be listening and it is oftentimes very boring. For myself in my Spanish classes, the cassettes and CD players were the days that all of the students didn't like the class because it was too boring. However, I learned that there are other ways to get the same message across through various activities. I think that in my classes I would like to use visual aids and white boards, as videos are often seen by students as a resting time to not pay attention. Overall, it was a good and informative lesson.
