This unit taught me how to optimize my use of three types of materials in my classroom: authentic, coursebook, and teacher created materials. I think having a variety of materials will keep my students interested. Certainly, I would enjoy creating my materials, especially role play cards since they can allow students to practice grammar through speaking (speech). Moreover, I was impressed with the role play cards in Unit 14. These cards will be useful for me to utilize with my classroom. I can also create more role play cards related to the unit theme (lesson). The suggestions on how to utilize authentic, coursebook, and created materials genuinely helped me in organizing my thoughts as a teacher. Therefore, I will be able to provide successful and interesting lessons while using standardized ESL level material included in the coursebook. Truly, I am inspired to create more of my materials as well!
