This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
During this unit I have learned about the different present tenses. I have learned that some grammar tenses are used for stating facts, like simple present, or that some tenses are used for describing something that will continue in the future or have started in the past but still continuing like the present perfect continuous. I also see now that for beginner english speakers, the simple present might be easiest to start with and as they gain a better understanding, you move on the the next tense. My only reason for this would be that I find it quite confusing to remember all the small details like when to use have and not have been, so I would think for someone being exposed to english for the first time would find this even more confusing. I would also teach the tenses by doing lots of activities and giving the student plenty of examples to be certain they understand before moving on to the next.
