This unit addressed the topic of classroom management. From this unit, I gathered numerous useful techniques, such as stating a student's name at the end of a question rather than the beginning. Personally, I think learning the students' names is very important. That said, many of my colleagues have expressed no interest in learning their students' names. Others have recommended that I \"make them\" wear name tags. Personally, I think reading name tags does not demonstrate any genuine interest in knowing the student's name. Also, the use of name tags simply isn't an option at my school. That said, the process of learning the names of all 460 of my students is proceeding incrementally, and will take some time. In the meantime, I am concerned that this may negatively impact my ability to fairly distribute attention whether or not I am conciously aware of it.
