Here we have learned about different methodologies that have been used in the teaching of English as a second language as well as various teaching techniques associated with them. We can see how teaching methods have evolved over time from the classical approach to ESA. Each method highlighted has positive and negatives and it seems to me that each has something that could be useful since learning styles will vary from student to student and some techniques are better for certain levels (such as the technique of using repetition drills for students of a lower level). I will be sure to use the activity suggestions discussed in the lesson especially in the engage phase.
