The focal point of this unit is a discussion of the productive skills of language, speaking and writing. They are both used to communicate but writing is considerably more difficult than speaking, because it requires a greater degree of accuracy than speaking, that is more focused on fluency.
The major difficulties in the speaking field could be for students that for some reason don't feel comfortable about speaking in the classroom. I have learned that in this case pair/group-works or giving students time to think before expressing their opinion could be good techniques to encourage interaction.
About the writing field I have learned that the most important factors that need to be considered are not only grammar and vocabulary but also spelling, handwriting, layout and punctuation. This because a bad handwriting or incorrect spelling/punctuation may influence the reader in a negative way, therefore the teacher should always encourage the students to improve them.
