This unit taught about different teaching strategies and focused in on the ESA style of teaching. In my many instances of teaching I have used approaches that were similar to a lot of the aforementioned teaching styles, and this was the first time that I had a deep look at the ESA style. I found that the ideas in the ESA style are very good and am looking forward to being able to implement the ESA style in the classroom. In the ESA style, I especially liked the focus given to the engage segment of the class. I have had teaching material before that skipped this stage, and found it difficult to stick to the classroom guide when the students were not invested in the class. By having the engage segment there to help the students be active from eh very beginning, I feel that there will be a higher retention of student interest throughout the lesson.
