The content of this unit is to provide structure and examples of different types of structures within a language lesson. There are three important stages to each lesson: Engage, Study, Activate. In other words, provide an educational hook, work in the knowledge and lesson with the student, and then move it to a higher order thinking phase. Depending on the teacher and the class, the lesson may move back and forth between the different types of sections, but should always start with Engage and end with Activate. Numerous activities were listed to help better define each stage. Corrections should be carefully made; they should not interrupt the flow of the lesson and should be focused within the study part of the lesson. There is a fine balance between correcting and overcorrecting, therefore rendering the students fearful of making an error and stifling their wish to take chances with new information.
