This unit has been a valuable guide for distinguishing the different aspects of the past tense. It has been useful for distinguishing its aspects from those of the present tense. Its provision of definitions, explanations of usage, and suggestions for students' activities are much appreciated. Explaining grammatical points of the tenses remains an ongoing challenge for new teachers. For instance - explaining the usage of the past perfect and the present perfect to students has required me to somehow be extra careful. Explaining the differences to low-level students is difficult to teachers in my situation. However, this unit has been a welcome addition to my understanding. Therefore, I think that by gaining clarity myself, I may be able to ensure students' clarity too.
