Teachers start from Placement test which shows the level of English. During the course we can use Diagnostic and Progress tests. Achievement test usually using in the end of the school year. Academic English tests (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS) have different systems but mostly they testing grammar and 4 skills (speaking, writing, reading, and listening). These tests are well recognized and mostly required by universities or using by companies/agencies for non-native speakers.
