This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 2 covered the basics of grammar, refreshing our memories on the eight parts of speech. This unit payed special attention to how each part of speech affects the rest of the sentence. The differences between countable and uncountable nouns, transitive and intransitive verbs, comparative and superlative adjectives (and so on) are things that come naturally to me as an English speaker, but it will take a deeper understanding to pass that knowledge on to students, especially if the student is older and will not naturally catch on to the nuances of the English language. I was especially surprised at how many rules I apply without thinking when choosing which article to use (or if I should use the \"zero article\"). I've already printed this unit out to use as a refernce when I begin teaching English!
