Unit 19 dealt with teaching special groups. Every group is different, and I will have to adapt myself.
If I teach beginners, I will need to have realistic aims, be as visual as possible, avoid using the students' mother tongue and revise constantly.
If I teach to individual students, I should start my first meeting with a need analysis and find the student's interests and experience.
If I teach children, I will need to teach slower,use a higher pitch, refer to the child's current activity.
If I teach Business English (or English for specific purposes), I will have to assess what the students want/need. I should ask my students what they use English for in their job.
