This unit covers how to teach English to different groups of students. English is taught differently, whether that be a class of beginners, in one-to-one lessons, a class of children or business people. For beginners, it is important to be patient and clear with them. In one-to-one lessons, the teacher can accommodate to the student?s needs easily. In a class of children, it is important to speak slowly, be prepared to make fun of one?s self and reward them for good performance. With business people, it is important to give them a ?needs analysis? in order to see where they stand. I learned that it can be a bit more difficult to teach business people. This is because they are usually group together based on their job, not their ability. This requires the teacher to accommodate to more than one type of student.
