This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is about productive skills which are speaking and writing.I learned the difference between accuracy and fluency activities, and that they are equally important.I also learned some accuracy and fluency based activities to use in classroom. It talked about reasons students might be reluctant to talk and how to overcome it and encourage them to speak by pair work, group work, careful planning, changing the classroom dynamics, etc. It had good points on how to provide feedback in an effective way.
It also pointed out that handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation are important in writing. It also had some examples of typical creative writing activities.
It also gave me a better understanding about how games can be used to make the learning process more fun and enjoyable, also providing a group of suitable games to be used.
