The future tense, like the present and past tense, can take four common forms: the future simple, future continuous, future perfect, and future perfect continuous tense. However, the future tense can also take the form of the \"be going + infinitive\", the present simple and the present continuous. Therefore, the future tense may prove more challenging for English learners, not only because of these additional forms, but because it requires them to differentiate between when and how they can use the present simple and present continuous to describe both present and future actions and scenarios. The teacher should be sure to allow adequate time to clarify the different usages of the various future forms to minimise confusion.
