In this unit, I learned different aspects of managing a class and tips on how to properly do so. Eye contact, gesture, and voice are all tools to be conscious of while teaching. There are pros and cons for each way to group students for activities as well as ways to set up the classroom desks depending on the size and situation. The chapter also covered other technical aspects of the classroom such as tips for writing on the board, giving instructions, and teacher talking time versus student talking time. Lastly, appropriate discipline in the classroom and building rapport with the students is important as well.
