This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned a lot in this unit. First, I learned that using tongue twisters can be helpful when teaching pronunciation. Before I read this unit, I thought that tongue twisters would just cause more confusion for students. Also, I learned about the phoneme alphabet and which phonemes represent vowels and which ones represent consonants and that there is difference between voiced and unvoiced phonemes. Articulation was also a great learning point and I learned that there are different articulation points in the mouth; dental, alveolar, and velar (velum). Also this unit reinforced that a teacher will need to keep in mind that there are several different variations of intonation patterns depending on the language.
