The unit covered the parts of speech. Parts of speech consists on each part of a sentence, what they are, and how they interact with each other. The parts of speech covered were nouns, pronouns, adjectives, articles, gerunds, infinitives, verbs, adverbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and auxiliary verbs. Some parts can be confused by students such as adverbs of frequency and adjectives. Gerunds are similar to present participle tenses of words. Verbs have many irregular forms that can only be memorized. Grammar is not perfect and there are many exceptions which the students may struggle with. It is important for the teacher to emphasize learning each part of speech so the student can analyze what a word has in relation to the sentence to figure out its meaning and placing in the sentence. Exercises and practice should help both students and teachers to master difficulties in grammar.
