Authentic and created materials help supplement what is taught from a textbook. Where a textbook lesson is more rigid in what is being taught and how, authentic and created materials can provide fluidity to how a lesson is taught and typically garner more interest and motivation from the students. Authentic and created material are fluid in the way that they can be designed to the interests of the students being taught. A course book can save time but is more like a guideline to be used lightly and help structure lessons. This lesson has taught me what questions to review when analyzing a course book.
