This unit covered teaching specialized groups of English learners - previous units are generally applied to teaching groups of adult students of general English. Specialized groups include teaching beginners, individual students, children, multilingual classroom and business English.
From my perspective, it would've been more helpful if this unit was given earlier in the course. This has been the most relevant unit because I give private lessons mainly to professionals. I've also given individual lessons to beginners and children and have felt inadequately prepared for those lessons. I think that at least addressing the different groups of English learners earlier in the course would have allowed me to appropriately apply the ESA lesson structure to my context better.
I know that trying to address all the different groups of English learners throughout the course would be difficult but referring to them from time to time would have been helpful.
