ESL can attract students with a wide variety of English levels, needs, and backgrounds, as well as a variety of teaching situations (be it a normal class or one-to-one). This unit covered working with beginner students, classes with an individual student, young learners, business English, as well as monolingual and multilingual classes. These types of classes are not exclusive, and there can be a lot of overlap. It has given me a specific classification for the type of students I am currently working with (beginner, young, and monolingual) ? and thus, I understand possible situations where I am not as experienced (multilingual, business English, and one-to-one).
