Types of materials and teaching aids are wipe board, visual aids, worksheets, cassette, CD, DVD, video, dictionaries, coursebooks, resource book, photocopies, computer, etc. The coursebook advantages are the following; it is easier and quicker to prepare than creating own materials, it is graded for level, it offers continuity, students expect to use them, and it is good for new teachers. To make the best use of the coursebook, don't use it all the time, don't rely on the information presented, we need to create a balance lesson, and we need to match the material given to our students needs. Because authentic materials are real, students tend to give more value than created materials.
