This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
this unit was by far the most intensive so far, i learned how to begin a course by first administering a level test to figure out the current level of English proficiency among students of the class followed by a needs analysis in order to find out what certain areas the students feel like they need to work on. Then syllabus design, I feel the situational design would be the most suited for a bushiness related English course due to the nature of its circumstantial area of language that will be used (in the office, on the phone, at a meeting ect. specially after considering that most of my students in japan will have already studied a structural language course in middle or high school- i.e. grammar, sentence structure and spelling.
this course also helped reinforce my knowledge of the 4 main areas of language for both learning and teaching purposes, those are the productive and receptive skills of speaking and writing, and the receptive skills of listening and reading.
