This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
We talked about reported speech being only what others have said, this will be used along with a close version of your lesson plan (I tend to be unprepared and business students hate that). My plans are to help teach the locals in Ecuador better pronunciation, the grammar is already pushed from 12 years of school. One of the reasons I took this course is because I felt some of the students knew the grammar better than I did, now I am a little more prepared for their questions about 3rd conditionals and reported speech. I probably won’t be teaching 3rd conditionals but I am sure reported speech will be used.
The public schools started last Tuesday, I had online classes all week and can't go until Monday, however my wife implemented my idea of writing 'Today is' to get the students to say “Tuesday” 'Yesterday was' “Monday” 'Tomorrow will be' “Wednesday” I told her to do that every day for 1 or 2 weeks then start picking students to write the day, I think this will give them the basic knowledge of 'was = past' and 'will be = future'.
