From this course I have gained an understanding of effective language teaching and insights into english grammar that I did not have prior to taking the course. The ESA methodology and general teaching methodology of the course have shown me that the teacher does not always have to be the one talking in order to teach effectively and that actually the reverse is true as the goal is to get students to use the language on their own. The course will help me to find the proper balance between instructing and arranging exercises that will allow the students to practice the language and enjoy learning english. Before taking the TEFL course I was not familiar with reported speech and the various tense changes that occur in reported speech. This will help me to speak better proper english in my personal life and will help me to teach this area of the english language properly in the classroom.
