I personally, have taken a lot out of this course. It has taught the different degrees of students that I will experience when teaching, and how to handle those students. Not only am I now aware of techniques to discipline, encourage, correct and praise but I am also aware of how to conduct myself as a teacher. Having only taught children and their basic syllabus, I initially felt I would not be equipped to handle an adult classroom, now that I have done this course, I feel that I would be able to cope with the adult students and have confidence in the content.
That brings me to another point, the amount of information that I have been exposed over these last 7 months has been phenomenal, had it not been for TEFL I would be living in the ignorance of Standard 10 english. I feel that I have learnt so much that can be applied, not only to my future lessons, but to my everyday life too. Every unit that I studied taught me something new about the language, the classroom, the people and methods. Every bit of advice that I read in the course will help me when it comes to specific situations in the classroom. I feel that this TEFL course has prepared me and given me the confidence to start teaching english!
