I have not done any studies for 23 years. I knew that studying after so long would be a challenge for me. This has helped me realise what a student will feel like learning something new for the first time. I have learned a lot from this course. Even though I speak and use english every day, I did not realise that the different usages of sentences and language all had names. I have learned some of them for the first time because we were never taught them in school. I have also learned that I need to brush up on the uses of tenses before I teach them to new students. I hope to be able to put into action, the knowledge I have learned from this course and my previous knowledge of teaching dance, to help student learn and enjoy the english language. My children have given me a good insight of how the school system works over here, which is very different from england. I will be able to work out a lesson plans that are more suited to their way of teaching. I hope that with time and practice, I will become a teacher were the students enjoy turning up for lessons and leave with better english language.
