This course has really taught me things about the english language I didn’t even know existed like the way we form sentences and why we do it that way. It has taught me a lot about the proper and correct way of saying things and how you can teach others why it is proper and improper to say certain things. I really enjoyed the teaching tools that are used teach students english. I really appreciate all the activities/worksheets/games/etc. that are made available as aids to teaching. I will definitely be using these worksheets and games in my classes to come. The lesson planning template has been an invaluable tool and has helped me to think out the lessons ahead of time and plan what my objective is and how I will meet it. I think the format is a good template and it will help me as I get started. I feel more prepared to create an interactive and educational lesson then when I first started taking this course. Now all I need is the experience of teaching!
I also really appreciated the informative tips on how to be cognizant of the students and their feelings; really putting yourself in their shoes. It has helped me to keep in mind when fluency is important and when accuracy is important and when to be complimentary and when to correct.
Also the benefit of having a tutor has really helped me to make and understand corrections where they are needed. I definitely would do it again with tutor support.
