At first I had my doubts about doing an online TEFL course, but now after the course I feel it was a good decision. I have learnt how to manage a class, what to teach, how to plan the lesson and how to teach it efficiently. It has been a revision course of english for me. Lots of tense that are not used daily or used unknowingly are more noticeable now. This course gave me the confidence that I needed to become a teacher. I can finally put my plans into action.
I will put all that I learnt from this course into teaching young students privately in the italian community where I live. The age range of children that I want to target is 6 to 8 years old. They already have a good command (read and write) of their native language which prevents them from making confusions or mixing the languages. I believe I will have a good possibility because the students here in Switzerland have to learn the two national languages (french and German) but english only at the end of high school. Therefore, some of the parents think its better to anticipate learning english before then.
Thanks to this course, I personally gained self-assurance and the know-how of teaching that will accompany me throughout my teaching experiences.
