Throughout these past two months, I have gained a vast amount of information from simple english grammar structures to planning everyday lessons for class. It really was refreshing to review Basic english grammar structures. I remember at times my friends and I would be talking about grammar and I knew if something sounded right or wrong, but I wasn’t aware why it was right or wrong. With the teaching tips and pointers, some were self-explanatory and obvious, however there were some that had never crossed my mind; for example, the methodologies of teaching.
A lot of my friends are teaching english abroad currently without having any certificate or prior classes and told me that I could go abroad without any course, but I am really grateful I took this course. It makes me feel much more confident than if I would’ve taught without any prior experience or knowledge.
One thing this online course has really brought to my attention is that if I set my mind up to accomplish something, I can. This was the first time I have ever taken an online course and having to schedule when to read and finish my homework without any real deadlines. At times it has been hard, but that is something I learnt about myself and will always remember it for the future.
Hopefully soon after I complete this course, I will be able to teach english abroad and put to use all the information/knowledge I have gained from this course.
