I have got a lot of satisfaction from the course, and I’ve enjoyed doing it. I think that teaching english to foreign students must be a very rewarding experience for the teacher, as I hope to find out in the future. The course itself points the inexperienced teacher in the right direction, although as it says many times there is no right way to do things when it comes to teaching, hopefully the teacher will bring his / her own ideas to the classroom. A good teacher needs to be many things, patient, entertaining, have good interaction with his class and always try and have a smile on his face. A teacher also has to be many things, organizer, tutor, observer and manager, know when to monitor the students and when to stay in the background. Not to criticize the students too much, always try and encourage them to give answers when they can, if the answer is the wrong one, maybe with an open hand or a tilt of the head see if you can get them to give a different answer, and always try and let other students answer the question if they can. Always give the students as much feedback as possible, they like to know how they are doing, and how well they have done in class. All in all I hope to plan my lessons well, always arrive on time for my classes, be kind to the students, always try and keep them interested, not let them get bored, speak clearly and always be as patient as possible during class. And try and keep that smile on my face!
