Personally, I have gained a lot from the course. Initially, I thought it would be somewhat easy, considering that I have been speaking english all my life. However, it has proven challenging and I am sure that I will develop into a strong ESL teacher because of the course.
I have gained a renewed appreciation for tenses, something I took for granted. Learning how to write a lesson plan has also been very rewarding and has helped me to appreciate the effort of many of my past teachers.
I plan to go overseas this year, hopefully on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme. If, for whatever reason, I am not accepted, I plan to apply for assistant ESL positions in various countries. I am very excited to begin my journey.

This comprehensive online DVD course has given me the opportunity to learn some creative teaching ideas that are effective in the classroom setting. Detailed lesson plans give more flexibility to meet the needs of the individual student.
This was a very lengthy and detailed course with great support from the instructor. However, I feel it would have been ideal to have some classroom instructional hours through the course.
There are many immigrants who don’t speak english and live in shelters all over America. I plan to put the techniques learned through this course in action by volunteering at one of those shelters.
