In this course I have learned the skills I will need to teach a class of students english. I have learned, or been given a refresher, on many grammatical concepts in english. I found the units on the formation of tenses to be particularly useful in giving me the words to explain concepts that I already knew, but didn’t have the ability to explain. I learned a lot about the particulars of teaching a language, for example productive and receptive skills. I have also learned about teaching in general, giving motivation, discipline, testing, lesson planning, and various resources to draw from. I plan on keeping all my lesson plans I have made, worksheets I have filled out, and units I have read as resources for reference as I move forward. I intend on trying my best to retain all this information and apply it when teaching my students, evaluating their work, and preparing for lessons.
