This experience has really opened my eyes up to the complexity of the english language. There are many things, as a native english speaker, which I do subconsciously. I learned a lot about the english language that I might have never learned in school. I will keep this in mind when I am in front of the classroom because learning the language will be much more difficult for new learners. There are times that I struggle as a student and I also want to keep this in mind when I am a teacher. Student might not get a concept the first time and I should not get frustrated with them when that happens. It may not be a lack of trying on their part and it might be a lack of explanation on my part. My main focus will be on student learning. Many of my students will want to learn the language and I want to provide the opportunity for them to do so.
