Before starting this course I thought I already knew most of what I needed to know, I thought this would be quite easy be a native speaker. I have now gained a greater understanding of the english language.
When I started this course I was amazed at just how little I actually knew, I was overwhelmed by some of the information I came across, I had never heard of a gerund, phrasal verb, superlatives, or even some of the different types of nouns etc. Although I knew how to use these, I had no real knowledge of how to explain these to anybody else, or why we structure sentences the way we do.
This course has taught me many things which I had taken for granted as a native speaker, moreover it has taught me many skills and given me the confidence to pass this knowledge on to others through teaching.
I plan to move to Japan soon and will be using all I have learnt to hopefully teach young learners there.
