I graduated from an applied foreign languages high school and took english for a year in college too, so I always thought that my english is good enough. First thing I've learned from this course is that speaking the language and teaching it to someone else are two different things, way different! I have had no idea there were so many aspects to teaching english and now I know why most schools require a TEFL / TESOL certification.
With this course I have refreshed my grammar knowledge and added many technical, EFL related words to my vocabulary. Now I realize that attempting at teaching without this course would be like walking across a busy road blind folded. I have gained a lot of information related to the teaching techniques, materials used in classrooms, ways of dealing with students' problems, how to make lessons more fun and interesting, lesson planning, managing classrooms, evaluating students etc.
I'll take everything I've learned with me and I'll keep referring to my course units when I need them. I plan on studying them over and over again, also I will be checking other sources for information. Thanks to you when I step in the classroom for the first time, I won't be all nervous, I will have a good idea about what to do.
