Usually TEFL and TESOL are mixed up although they are generally the same. TESOL is Teaching english to Speakers of other languages, and more used by people from the USA to teach people who have migrated to an english Speaking country, whereas UK uses the TEFL and is more aimed at teaching english in countries where english is not the first language.
