I enjoy when the tests have 6 options and we have to order them for how we would teach them in a lesson - I find that very helpful - start the students in a conversation, then begin the official lesson with vocabulary and something to read, watch, or listen to - after evaluating them on what was said or written, then give them an activity based on the action and theme of what was just read, watched, or listened to - then share with a peer or the class...
