I found unit 8 to be quite difficult with really establishing which tense and structure to use as there are 7 different forms to take into consideration, with also the 'going to' , present simple and present continuous things get a little confusing...
If you consider English language like an ensemble of rules that you can use according to the tense (in this case past tenses) and learn how to code and to decode them by following the basic grammar rules, you will be fine...
