In this unit, I learned that the learner's receptive vocabulary is much larger than the learner's productive vocabulary. So, the student knows more words than he/or she uses. I empathize with this as this is certainly true of myself and how I apply the Spanish language (not my native language).In this unit it was quite easy to see that a teacher with will can certainly make a difference how much the students are willing to participate. A rude and disrespectful teacher won´t motivate the students at all. A friendly and motivated teacher can reflect this behaviour onto the students.Planning lessons can be really difficult because it can be hard to tell what will be most useful to students to learn, and what they will be able to learn successfully. This unit was useful in that it showed me what specific factors to consider of when creating a lesson and choosing vocabulary.
