Unit 10, the course's final unit, discussed in detail the reasons for using tutorials, student class evaluations, and all of the different types of tests and their aims in educating student in English as a foreign language. First, tutorials are needed to assess lesson aims, student's performance, and reviewing work or discussing relevant problems that need addressing. These tutorials can either be applied in groups or with individuals, and should be given weekly to stay on top and in the know with students. Second, it is very important to gather your student's feedback regarding how well they think you structured and delivered class exercises. These opinions can be very useful and are necessary in improving your course teachings moving into the future. The rest of this unit discusses the many different types of formal and external tests, and their individual purposes(informal tests may be effective as well) These include placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests, general external exams(TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC), and Cambridge assessment tests(KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, Skills for Life, Business English).
