There are both advantages and disadvantages of using a course book, and a good teacher won't use the book for the entire lesson, instead think about which areas need to be supplemented for external materials. If the teacher has to choose the course book, its important to consider price, availability, methodology and topics. This will help the teacher to provide an interesting and varied lesson covering a range of topics that isn't too expensive for the students.
