This unit provided a deep look into classroom dynamics including class arrangement, problem behaviors, and balancing student and teacher talk time. It was helpful to visualize the actual set up of a classroom and think about how certain classroom organizations might be better for certain types of activities. I also found it helpful to think about and learn about specific actions that teachers can take in order to keep students interested and involved, maintain focus and discipline in the classroom, and encourage student learning. These actions include using visual cues and gestures, eye contact, using student names, and writing on the board. It's helpful to know little simple steps that a teacher can take in order to enhance the classroom experience for students.
