I learned that there are different ways to communicate effectively to students - I find it interesting that some of the ways to help students communicate with each other were ways I would have thought weren't a good idea. I didn't think that letting other students communicate and correct each other wouldn't be a good idea but after reading through this unit, I now have a different opinion. I also didn't realize how much the positioning of the desks effects the teachers dominance. Looking back on classes, it makes sense that the classes where the desks were horseshoe shaped were a lot more comfortable to participate in than other classes. The different shapes almost made you feel closer to your classmates.
