This unit provided a background on different types of teaching styles, which is useful in understanding why ESA is a good method of teaching. This method puts teaching into a clear structure which can be built on and ensures that students are actively involved whilst also learning and applying the language skills. While it would be the most natural response to automatically correct your students, I understand why it is important that this is the last resort after self correction and student to student correction. The student needs to be aware of why they are incorrect and find the answer themselves.
