This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focuses on the principles and functions of planning lessons using the Engage Study Activate phases of the ESA teaching model. The features necessary for a successful lesson plan include but are not limited to, learner objective, language point, teaching aids and materials, procedure, anticipated problems, phase, timing, and interaction. These features are crucial to the building of a successful lesson plan, regardless of language level, age, or class size. From an earlier unit, there is a grammar review and questionnaire of the past simple and present perfect simple tenses, which are part of the task/worksheet portion of this unit, as well as new information detailing the form and function of modal verbs.
From this unit, I believe I have learned the points necessary for designing a good lesson plan, in addition to learning more about the form, use, and meaning of modal auxillary verbs.
